Project Summary
The Bend Food Hub Pop-Up is a weekly food market at 5300 4th Avenue South in Georgetown, operating alongside the Puget Sound Labor Agency (PSLA) food bank. It will serve pre-ordered produce boxes for pickup, a fresh produce stand, and chef-made grab-and-go items, with food trucks and community programming to activate the site around equitable food access. Georgetown has no grocery store, and the pop-up puts affordable fresh food on 4th Avenue two years before the first building at The Bend opens.
The site is temporary by design. In eighteen months it becomes the construction site for The Bend, a five-building live-work district with about 600 units of affordable housing that will nearly double Georgetown’s residential population. That clock governs the spending: equipment on wheels, signage built to relocate, partnerships that outlive the address. The pop-up is also the prototype for the permanent food hub, testing the vendors, logistics, and demand the hub will run on.
