Volunteer Position for Grant and Fundraising Manager to the Georgetown Healthy Food Initiative
Commitment: 2-4 hours a week
Although our Coalition is currently fueled by dedicated volunteers, we’re gearing up to take things to the next level and we need help in writing a fundraising plan. To elevate our events, support local food businesses, and honor those who share their wisdom, we’re eager to compensate for time and expertise. If you’re experienced in grant applications and securing sponsorships, your expertise is exactly what we’re looking for to turn our flavorful dreams into reality.
Responsibilities:
- Grant Writing: Develop compelling proposals to secure funding and identify grant opportunities aligned with our objectives.
- Fundraising Coordination: Support event planning, ensuring gatherings are both engaging and financially supported, minimizing barriers for local vendors.
- Donor Relations: Build and nurture relationships with potential donors, making them feel valued and essential to our cause. Develop connections that go beyond financial support, making donors and sponsors feel as special as the secret ingredient in a treasured family recipe.
Qualifications:
- A passion for food advocacy and keeping food affordable and accessible.
- Writing skills with a knack for storytelling that can support our marketing strategy and invite others to want to be involved.
- Strong interpersonal skills that are able to communicate with diverse audiences, including funders, team members, and community stakeholders.
